Meet Shirley Irwin

Shirley Irwin, MS, Ed., Yes I Can Learning Strategies, LLC consultant, holds a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in learning disabilities. She has extensive experience teaching learners with dyslexia and related learning disbilities including anxiety and ADHD. Shirley is able to share with educators and parents the extensive experience gained as a Special Education Teacher and Autism Specialist in Linn-Benton and Lincoln Counties (Oregon) for over twenty-five years. She is trained in the field of Mindfulness for youth and teens to develop their own ways to become mindful. Shirley has served students aged pre-school through twenty-one years for:

In addition, Shirley is experienced in giving academic assessments, providing consultation and individualized instruction for students, families, and school teams. She has several years of training and teaching experience with students learning English as a second language who struggle with language and learning, as well as possible disabilities. Finally, Shirley is a provider of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Support Plans. She believes that including the learner in developing his or her own positive action learning plan is the key to success for mindful learning in daily life.

Shirley brings an additional special quality to her work in that she has a granddaughter with disabilities. She believes that both her professional and family experiences make her a better educator and partner for both schools and families.
